The 1935 Clos de Vougeot from Barolet is a quite austere wine. In the Bouquet it’ was showing mature dark fruit but is lacking some complexity and depth. On the palate also a dark expression of fruit with a quite strong backbone of acidity. Still quite impressive but is lacking some vibrant life to match the best old bottles of Barolet. Keeping well, but not much charm and complexity – first 1935 for me!
