The 1996 Henriot Champagne Cuvée des Enchanteleurs is still in a rather closed stage. While it’s beginning to show it’s not flashing the whole potential. The bouquet is rather closed, but given a litte air it shows some mature notes from roasted nuts, almonds, around the core of fruit flavors melon and pear. On the palate quite charming but with the strong 1996 backbone keeping it focused. After a ltlle time in the glas quite creamy textures, with fine mature citrus and fruit notes. Good length and will provide excellent drinking for the next 10 years. Really a nice glas of Champagne, but is perhaps lacking the the ulimate complexity and edge compared to other top cuvees.
