The 2016 Meursault Charmes from Laurent Ponsot is a delightful surprise to be honest – as the 2016 whites can be somewhat high on the concentration. I have not tasted many white Ponsots before, but this is text-book Meursault – fresh and vivid – no low yield intensity to cloud the expression of terroir. It’s a harmonious wine – offering an airy and quite delicate view to the Charmes terroir.
(Drink From 2020) – Very Good (93p) – Tasted 07/05/2019.
