The Les St. Georges 1999 from Chevillon is a quite delightful effort for the vintage. In the bouquet secondary fruit .. strawberries, raspberries spiced with tar, a slight hint of sous-bois and a nice earthy minerality. On the palate lovely airy .. slightly dark .. fruit. It’s focused and remarkably lightfooted for the vintage and the terroir. A lovely NSG .. refined and balanced .. with only few of the 1999 vintage downsides.
