Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg, Clos de Vougeot 2014

The Clos de Vougeot from Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée at Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg is a beauty. The nose offer layers of red and dark berry fruit – lovely complexity – spiced with a hint of oak, chocolate and a lovely deep earthyness. On the palate silky, refined with a very fine mid-palate intensity. Is generous, perfectly balanced with a lovely expression of the terroir. For me the benchmark on Clos de Vougeot .. perhaps not the biggest and best wine from this mighty grand cru … but nevertheless a benchmark for pleasure and drinkability. Love this wine.
