Vieux Chateau Certan 2008 is my kind of claret. In the bouquet notes of camphor, cedar, herbs, black and red fruits. On the palate very balanced and quite complex with fine minerality, good ripe fruit balanced by fine tannins. The wine seems very delicate, but in reality it’s quite powerfull – medium to full bodied – with good grip and a long intense finish. A classic claret – a rare thing these days.
(Drink From 2025) Very Fine – 93p
