Maison Albert Bichot, Clos de la Roche 2015

The tasting Grandes Maisons Grands Cru during Grands Jours de Bourgogne included the opportunity to taste some great wines from the big houses.

The Clos de la Roche 2015 from Maison Bichot is intense yet quite cool for the vintage. The nose offer layers of ripe fruit – red and dark berries, ripeness perfect without the slightly hot notes found in some Clos de la Roche in the 2015 vintage. On the palate fine depth and concentration, fine acidity and balance – lovely mineral intensity. Need time to unfold but suprisingly forward already.

Note this is a negociant wine, and not a part of the Domaine du Clos Frantin lineup. The Domaine du Clos Frantin estate is the top brand of the Bichot group – and the top domaine wines are sold under this brand.
