a small US/Norvegian estate in Meursault. Some of these small estates have a magical hand ... in some wines this is the case with Joachim Skyaasen ... if youu - like I - love light and airy reds. Has a delicacy in the reds ... could perhaps be explained by the vertical press (old style) we will see. Will definately try to follow Skyaasen ... love this word

Full tasting of the 2024 lineup with Mathilde Grivot ... quite some beautiful surprises in this difficult year. As always pick the emotional wines ... it is important especially in 2024. Tasting report will come shortly ... when I get the hog in gear.

Oct 27
NSG late afternoon ... beautiful on a sleepy day

“In 2010, Anthony Bourdain spoke on the Good Food Podcast about how to have the best eating experience possible. "Ideally, eating should be a completely emotional, non-intellectual experience," he explained. He used the example of how a chef eats to clarify. "They generally walk into restaurants and say `I`ll have what you`re good at,`" Bourdain said. That puts the trust in the chef, allowing them to focus on what they know will taste good, rather than the customer having to come up with demands.”

Moving to Burgundy has given me many impressions, stories, information and photos that I feel compelled to share. Enjoy!
Sometimes a photo will require further explanation, and this will be done in the articles on the Winehog website.
The important thing is to give you commentary on the views of Burgundy and the beautiful vineyards I see every day.

Oct 14
Delightful lightfooted Bourgogne rouges from Simon Bize … showing the best sides of 2022
Oct 12
Visit at Jean-Marie Guffens … a legendary winemaker in Macon. Sad to say there are very few vignerons these days who matches the personality of Guffens … a treat to meet him and taste his wines … including the well known Chablis Valmur Sud 1995 - without sulphur
Oct 10
Clos de la Perrière with owner Bénigne Joliet ... lovely tasting of 2024 and 2023. Really impressed by the white 2024 Clos de la Perrière and the red 2023s ... very interesting tasting of the influence of different oaks and amphoraes ...

Sunday … NSG October boredom … always good to see the guys at the cafe de C
Oct 5
The delicacy of simplicity … la Cuverie de Vosne … this is in my view the best dish in Nuits-Saint-Georges currently - just show how much other places can fuck up even simple dishes 🙈🥵
Oct 2
A stairway to powerty… and enjoyment
Oct 2

Sep 27
Roisin Curley an Irish girl in Beaune. Enjoyable wines with a prominent and distinct style - quite classic - but with a fine balance and energy - A lovely and charming meeting … will be back for the rest of that 2022 white Beaune 😁
Sep 25
From the heights of Nuits-Saint-Georges - Le Côteau des Bois - you see the true gems of this lovely village.
Sep 19
no doubt good wines were made in 2025!!
… but the praise now sounding from parts of the Beaunoise elite is in relatively sharp contrast to the actual conditions during the harvest. One month of harvest with strongly shifting conditions … a uniform vintage … hardly. But it was indeed a very strange vintage … with at times a lovely potential … more to come!!
Sep 19
The base Pataille Aligote is a blessing … relatively rich and generous with a discrete mineral balance and a support for most medium weight dishes. It drinks beautifully and is just what the bank ordered … even the doctor will be amused! What a treat!!!
Sep 17
Cèpes du Morvan, poires, butternut …
The French kitchen at its worst… disgracing Cépes de Morvan with pear and Butternut in a revolting combination. Cépes should be used with respect … and be allowed to shine … this is a travesty!!!
Sep 17
Aux Brûlée and Richebourg
Sep 16
Richebourg qqAnne Gros a morning pick on September 6th ... before the final rain
Sep 16
Tail wagging under preasure … Pressing a pinot cuvée at Domaine Pierre-Olivier Garcia

Oak much better integrated … a spiky Gevrey with edges and quite some power. Has character and power!
Sep 15
Did you enjoy the Winehog harvest coverage?
Sep 14
another beautiful 2019 showing the refinement of this beautiful vintage. Delicately perfumed and sensuel ... the old battle between Cailleret and La Romanée continues ... always a tremendous treat Mr Morey
Sep 14
the 2019s are singing ... 10 min of air, and Saint-Aubin is bringing joy to all at the table. Beautiful now ... will keep
Sep 13
Lovely and quite intense Aligoté 2024 from Aurélie … let it get 20 min of air to focus and open up for the acidity and complexity. Slight note from presumably the lees give the wine some culinary intensity ... was thinking big Oysters naturel or even Spaghetti Vongole
Sep 13
Volnay ... beautiful Volnay ... I adore the joy and livelyness I get from the best wines of this fine appellation. Volnay ... the delight of Côte de Beaune reds!
Sep 13
Tremendous Bourgogne rouge from Antoine Lienhardt … juicy and vivid with a lovely forward fruit … very enjoyable - vin d’émotion
Sep 12

- A true vin d’émotion – a Burgundy of passion
- A truly hedonistic wine – lively and enjoyable
- A vivacious wine for pure indulgance
- A potential vin d´émotion - frais et léger
