Jean-Yves Bizot has made the most of the 2013 vintage … they showed very well at the Trilogie in March 2015 – so I was eager to try one now that they have settled after bottling. I was not disappointed. The Vosne Romanee 2013 from Bizot is still showing gorgeously well … expressive with loads of Vosne spices driven forward by a lovely enegertic organic red fruit. The nose is very floral with lovely notes of red berries … spiced with violets, peony rose and cinnamon. One the palate openly knit with a lovely acidity … it’s lightfooted yet intense with a lovely organic fruit. Love the energy and the nerve in this wine … delightful Vosne village … happy wine!

- Domaine Bizot Vosne-Romanée Les Jachées 2006The 2006 Vosne-Romanée Les Jachées from Jean-Yves Bizot is still surprisingly darkly flavoured and backward. After an hour in the glass, it starts to unfold its usual delightful, energetic, whole-cluster fruit and tantalising Vosne spiciness. Not the most open of Jachées, but the Vosne spiciness is to die for, and almost second to none; complex, ...
- The beauty of 2013 reds – Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair EchezeauxI have recently tasted quite a few 2013 red Burgundies, and I must say they have a delightful, vivid appeal. The 2013s are surely not from the greatest of vintages. But they have some singular qualities that at best are uniquely fresh red Burgundies, with a visible and even flamboyant expression of their terroirs. They do have ...
- Domaine Bizot – tasting of the 2014 vintageDomaine Bizot is in my view one of the most exiting estates in Vosne-Romanee. Domaine Bizot is not your average Vosne producer as it’s run by Jean-Yves Bizot who has a academic backgound in Geology and this somehow shows in both the wines and the way the Domaine is managed. The wines have a certain intellectuel ...

The tastings confirmed the loverly drinkability of the 2014s … the quality is high and this vintage should not be forgotten in the midst of the 2015 hype. Domaine Bizot My first visit here ...
