The Vosne-Romanée “Genaivrières” from Domaine Leroy is a village from a vineyard located just below the Domaine Leroy estate in Vosne. A 1.2331 ha plot covering the area between the estate and the N974. The 2002 is mature or should I say matured – with a lovely complex nose. Red and yellow berries, plenty of Vosne spices – notes of stramberries, prune and mulberries. On the palate quite or even very weighty for a village – long and intense with a tremendous complexity. For my book slightly on the ripe side .. with the yellow berry notes. Will keep and perhaps even improve with further cellaring ..
