To be honest I rarely taste the wines from Domaine Leroy – and to taste a Vosne-Romanée Beaux Monts 2013 is really a treat. Many 2013s are showing beautifully currently – and this is also he case with the Leroy Beaux Monts – open, floral and expressive. The nose is brimming with red and dark berry whole cluster fruit – very detailed berries spiced wih cinnamon and all spice. Oak quite well integrated at first – but after 30 min more noticable. On the palate pure, vibrant and silky with an airy and energetic fruit – very intense yet effortless and balanced. The tannins are so finely grained – outstanding quality for this level and for the vitage. Mindbending to see what this magnificent lady can do in a vintage like 2013.
