The Vosne-Romanee Les Gaudichots 2013 from Domaine Machard de Gramont is a forward and fruity wine. In the nose raspberries and boysen berries … rather darkish with a pronounced and initially slightly dusty minerality. On the palate fruity with a nice weight and purity. The acidity is fine and focusing and the tannins are ripe. Unfolding more red fruit after 30 minutes in the glass. Fine minerality – medium length – but is missing some weight and intensity compared with the top end 1er crus of Vosne. My first wine from Machard de Gramont – and I quite enjoyed the lightfooted fruity style … drinking well and not trying too hard.
