It has been almost 10 years since I first visited Domaine Nicolas Faure in Meuilley. This gives a certain perspective … although vintages 2021 and 2024 broke the trend with global warming taking its toe with increased ripeness and generosity of fruit.
Nicolas Faure’s wines are still, for me, perfect examples of vins d’émotion. They are not perfect wines, they are not technical wines, They are wines of joy and pleasure, made for hedonistic indulgence with friends.
10 years is a long time, and we all get older … taste buds are adjusted … but my sensation is still the same.

It’s essential to remember to enjoy and let the passion flow – preferably in big stems!

Domaine Nicolas Faure’s 2024s
These wines are all about hedonistic enjoyment, and even the notoriously difficult 2024s are bringing pleasure.
These are some of the first 2024 reds I have tasted … and it looks to produce some lovely wines in a more structured style than the solaire 2022s and 2023.
They remind me a bit of the 2021s, but perhaps with a more generous core … further tastings are needed.
And important to remember – The Nicolas Faure cuvées are not wines for 30 or even 20 years of ageing. I would say 10 to 15 in the big years … and even less for the smaller reds – 5 to 10 for the lesser wines in the lesser years.
Let’s taste some 2024s – wines were tasted March 26th 2025.
