The 2002 vintage from Dugat-Py is very charming compared to the quite dark style of the older vintages. The Coeur du Roy is no exception, and it’s now really beginning to show. In the bouquet quite some matured notes. Red fruit, slight orange peel, a hint of tar. On he palate very juicy with a nice balance with both red and dark fruits – delicate cool and ripe fruit. Very vibrant with fine fruit aromas, complimented with orange notes and cassis in the finish. A very charming wine, drinking well now but will improve further the next 5 to 10 years.
