The 2002 Gevrey Chambertin Petite Chapelle from Dugat-P is still young and quite vibrant. In the nose fresh raspberry notes … beginning to have more complex hints of truffle and sous-bois. On the palate fresh and juicy raspberry fruit … fine length with a quite intense earthy minerality in the finish. It’s quite undeveloped and slightly austere with it’s slightly monolitich fruit and tar notes. Nevertheless a quite refined effort … but need time to unfold. I have quite high expectations for the 02 Dugat-Py wines … and really hope they will get some complex mature notes before the lovely fruit declines …

- In the Glass – Dugat-Py matured!Dugat-Py in Gevrey-Chambertin is in many ways a quite extreme producer, with very concentrated and intense wines. Some really adore his style, while others dislike the quite extracted wines he makes. While the level of extraction have been reduced since the 90s it’s still interesting to see how these more extracted vintages are ageing today. This weekend ...
