While the vineyards of Burgundy are very old, changes and adjustments are done from time to time, and in some cases new wines and opportunities are created.
One such wine is the Domaine Lamarche La Grande Rue “Cuvée 1959” a new luxury cuvée to top the existing La Grande Rue.
This exciting new cuvée from Nicole Lamarche was introduced in 2014 ..a special wine produced as a treat to the exotic Burgundy market – where more than rare wines are becoming more and more popular.
The wine is however interesting as it also has a special historic background – so let’s take a closer look at this cuvée.
La Grande Rue and La Tâche
La Tâche and La Grande Rue are located next to each other, and in fact the part of La Tâche located just south of La Grande Rue is the part called Gaudichots ou La Tâche, that was included in La Tâche in 1933 – see the full article about La Tâche here and even the article about Gaudichots before and after the expansion of La Tâche.
The map below show the current borders between La Grande Rue and La Tâche.
