The Richebourg 2011 from Gros Frere et Soeur is a strong display of Vosne terroir. The bouquet offer a lovely spicy minerality with notes of violets, all spice, liquorice, coffee and red berry fruit. On the palate quite rich fruit with a powerful backbone of minerality. It’s a quite complex despite the quite heavy oak notes, and the long and intense mineralic finish is textbook Richebourg. A very fine Richebourg in the making.
(Drink from 2024) – Very Fine 93 – 94p – Tasted 18/03/2013 at the Trilogie in Vosne – Barrel sample.

- Terroir Insight: Gros Frère et Soeur Clos de VougeotClos de Vougeot has a magic ring to it, despite the fact that many wines from this large vineyard are what one could call somewhat disappointing, In the last 10-15 years quality has, however, improved notably and is often now more in line with expectations.
