This was a great surprise at a tasting – served blind. Still quite fresh on the palate with quite a vibrant fruit, and a lovely mature nose. Does not offer a lot of complexity, and is not a big or a large scaled wine, but a very nice smaller mature Burgundy – NOT!. Two friends from Domaines in Burgundy attended the tasting, and both placed it as a Burgundy!, as did I. No one was further back than the late 60ies on the vintage. Good to very good.
(Drink now) 86p – tasted in November 2009
Amazing for a wine from 1957 – remember DRC La Tache 1957,it was past it’s peak in 1994.
