The 2022 harvest is just around the corner, and many growers will start bringing in their crop by the end of this week.
I will try to use my time wisely, doing some days of harvest work, but also following the event at a few estates thanks to my transport associate Vespa Lyn(d) – my lightning Vespa.
The rain came
In much of Burgundy, there was finally had a bit of rain on August 16; moderate, but adequate (5-10mm), and just enough to restart the blocked phenolic ripening in many places and give the vines a little breather.
A bit more thunder and rain is expected later this week (Aug. 25 forward), which potentially could disrupt the harvest, but also give some last drops of welcome rain to the vines.
Good luck to all!
