The Volnay 05 from Marquis d’Angerville is a typical 2005 – quite open and ready to taste – but also a big unrealized pontential. The bouquet is showing loads and layers of ripe red and dark fruits – black cherries and raspberries with a tone of tar. The palate is more unevolved good and quite dense fruit, good grip from the ripe tannins and good acidity. It’s not a very complex wine, but 05 is a great vintage …. a very good wine but it really needs time to show the full potential.
