Last year, I rediscovered Rémi Jobard as one of the new leading producers in Meursault.
I have known the Jobard estates for many years, and while I had my preferences, the quality these days between Antoine and Rémi Jobard is pretty close – though their styles differ from one to the other. For me, Rémi took a great step forward around 2014, and he is now one of the top guys in Meursault, just below the famous and hyped domaines.
His style with Stockinger Oaks is very appealing to me with a quite firm character and the fruit well under control … yet still charming and vivid.
Rémi Jobard Bourgogne Blanc 2023
The Bourgogne Blanc is made from bought juice. It is elegant, with Stockinger barrels providing a nice wooden backbone. The juice comes half from Puligny-Montrachet and some from the Côte Chalonnaise. Quite rich but fresh …. a lovely lift. Has a lovely airy feel.

Rémi Jobard Bourgogne Côte d’Or Blanc 2023
A step up that represents all the good there can be said about these wines. And yeah… I like Stockinger which works very well in a world with ripe grapes and global warming.
(Drink From 2025) – Good – (87-88p) –
Domaine Rémi Jobard Bourgogne Aligoté En Buzigny 2023
The Aligoté made from Rémi’s own grapes is a big step up from the négociant version It has a firmer and more defined structure. The fresh and vivid 2023 structure is really showing well.

Domaine Rémi Jobard Monthelie sur la Velle 2023 (red)
This red is vivid and lively with good tension. It’s an elegant wine, and it shows quite some power from the somewhat sturdy terroir – another vin de soif, with rich, fine notes.
(Drink From 2029) –Very Good – (88p) –
Domaine Rémi Jobard Monthelie Les Champs Fulliot 2023 (red)
This is a bigger Pinot Noir, with more tension and verve. These Monthelies are often overlooked … and this is sad. It has a nice balance and is quite a step up from its neighbour on la Velle. This is a lovely wine.
(Drink From 2032) – Very Good – (89-90p) –
Domaine Rémi Jobard Meursault Sous la Velle 2023
Sous la Velle is a spot-on, classic, village Meursault. Freshness is better than in 2022 with the lovely energy in the 2023s. The Sous la Velle is elegant and quite vivid. Love the 2023 vintage on this rich terroir.
(Drink From 2029) – Very Good – (89-90p) –
Domaine Rémi Jobard Meursault En Luraule 2023
Another step up from the Sous la Velle. Again, Stockinger barrels are used for the 20% new oak. I do love the discrete but firm Stockinger oak. The finely grained wood and the fruit pure notes show very well indeed.
(Drink From 2030) – Very Good – (90p) –
Domaine Rémi Jobard Meursault Les Narvaux 2023
The Narvaux is always tasty, with deep, slightly darkish fruit. Narvaux is fairly powerful and more assertive than many villages. It can not match the Chevalières, but it does a good job. Traditional Meursault at its best – vines are 30 years old … this does help.
(Drink From 2032) – Very Good – (90-91p) –
