November tradition – tasting with Sebastien Cathiard at Domaine Cathiard in Vosne-Romanée… this year, vintage 2024.
Sebastien is showing a limited lineup as the low yields prevent the production of two cuveés (Thorey and Murgers) and the serving of others – there is so little wine in 2024.

The ’24s from Domaine Cathiard
2024 was a difficult year in Vosne … and also for Cathiard. The wines are surprisingly good considering the weather … and while the production was quite small, only the NSG cuvees were changed to one 1er cru.
To the wines … tasted on November 12th, 2025.
Domaine Cathiard Hautes Côtes de Nuits Village 2024
The latest addition to Cathiard’s Hautes Côtes de Nuits empire, these vines in Villers-la-Faye were acquired in 2021. The entry-level wine has quite a lively expression with a cool impression. A good wine … for the vintage.
(Drink from 2025) – Good (87p) – ![]()
Domaine Cathiard Hautes Côtes de Nuits Village Aux Chaumes 2024
The Hautes Côtes de Nuits Aux Chaumes comes from a 1.35-hectare vineyard, another recent expansion of the estate. The parcel has a high limestone content, with clay and stones. Not as mineral-driven as the Dames Huguettes. It has a lovely mineral note … a quite delicate structure. As always, it will need time to unfold.
(Drink from 2026) – Very Good (87p) – ![]()
Domaine Cathiard Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguettes 2024
Les Dames Huguettes comes from a vineyard with high limestone content and thin soil. This is a very mineral terroir. Les Dames Huguettes has a significantly more defined and refined expression than the other wines in the Hautes Côtes line-up. It has a lovely mineral structure … not bad … not bad at all.
(Drink from 2030) – Very Good (88p) – ![]()
Domaine Cathiard Gevrey-Chambertin 2024
A nice and quite juicy wine … but struggling a bit after Les Dames Huguettes – remember this … the Huguettes does deliver each year also in 2024. This has a nice forwardness and is light and enjoyable … and with some quite strong Cathiard hints … lets face it … love these wines.
(Drink from 2030) – Very Good (88p) – ![]()
Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 2024
The Vosne-Romanée is one of my benchmark wines. This is, as always, generous and vivid, with a delicate, tense expression. The Cathiard village comes from six different lieux-dits, and offers a lovely Vosne spiciness. As with other Vosne villages in 2024 it is on the lighter side – elegant and quite airy.
(Drink from 2033) – Fine (89-90p) – ![]()
