Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny is a very interesting terroir – highly regarded by Lavalle – and justifyably so .. it has a gorgeous stony minerality. The producer Martelet de Cherisey is new to me, but have done a fine job with this 2012. The nose is fresh for the vintage with a lovely mineral infused fruit – focused and quite intense – need a bit of air to open. On the palate fine and pure yellow and white fruits, brought forward by a intense minerality and a fine acidity for the vintage. Love the minerality in this wine … the style is a bit old school but somehow suits the terroir beautifully. Very enjoyable for the vintage .. a very good effort.
