Grands Jours de Bourgogne is one of the opportunities to check out new producers, and to evaluate progress amongst the known producers.
I have found a quite few producers that are worth taking a look at – as progress have been made – and a few new producers – that I, at least, have not mentioned before.
First name is from Morgon – a bit out of normal Winehog turf … Morgon.
Mee Goddard – Morgon extraordinaire
Grand Jours de Bourgogne have a session for up and coming producers … “Salon des Jeunes Talents” … and while the lack of obvious talent amongst some of the producers – there were a few possible rising stars.
One is Mee Godard – already a rising star – producing stunningly fine wines from the Morgon appellation. I found a beautiful fine and detailed fruit in these wines – very precise and transparent – a the sign of true talent a lovely invigorating and effortsless energy.
Mee began her wine journey in 2013 – and have come far, and as she explains on the home page; “My philosophy is to produce complex wines that are both elegant and alive.”
.. and alive they are – I do hope to visit Mee Godard on one of my future trips.
Another talent from Marsannay
In the more normal habitat of the Winehog – we find Domaine Jean Fournier. One of the many talented producers in the Marsannay appellation .. lovely both red and whites .. fine detail in the wines even kicking in a nice hedonistic element in the reds.

Steen – Did you manage to try the wines of Georges Lignier (winemaker Benoit Stehly) this year? I think their purity and transparency would be right up your street.
Steen Öhman says
Have tasted the Georges Lignier wines several times – lovely wines indeed. Not at the very top of my list … but close enough.

I have thought they were too light when I tried the 11s and 12s. Taking another peek at the 16s. With the vineyards the Domaine has a little more weight should not be hard.

Hello Steen,
how would you rate Matrot and Latour Giraud on their whites compared to Collardot? Close enough?
