Maison Louis Latour, Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles 2015

The tasting Grandes Maisons Grands Cru during Grands Jours de Bourgogne included the opportunity to taste some of the big wines from the 2015 vintage – wines I rarely have the chance to taste and evaluate from bottle.

The Louis Latour, Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles 2015 is showing better than expected. It’s a rich and generous Chevalier – plenty of ripe fruit and a quite dominant expression of oak – 100% new oak used. Despite the rather powerful oak Latour seem to have found a nice balance in this wines – as the abundant fruit seem to absorbe the new oak, and strike a nice balance with the ripe and slightly exotic orchard fruits. Big and rather burly … as the vintage.
