Terroir Insight: Louis Latour, Romanée Saint-Vivant Les Quatre Journaux

By Steen Öhman April 30, 2018Leave a Comment

Burgundy is all about terroirs and vineyard holdings, and many talented wine makers are limited by the vineyards they own and financial opportunities to rent or buy great vineyards.

It is therefor sad to see producers owning great vineyards apparently without being able to unfold the full potential of these terroirs.

One such example is in my view the Romanée Saint-Vivant of Maison Louis Latour …

Current ownership overview for Romanee Saint-Vivant

Setting the scene – there are currently 10 owners of Romanée Saint-Vivant – with Louis-Latour being the 3rd largest owner. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti own 5.3 ha – i.e. more than 55% of the 9.44 ha.
