The legendary 1er cru Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux was introduced by Henri Jayer in 1978 – before this the wine from this now famous vineyard was included in the Vosne-Romanée village of Domaine Henri Jayer.
In connection with the Baghera/Wine auction of wines from the Henri Jayer domaine cellar held on June 17th 2018 new informations and details about the Jayer production have become available.
Baghera/Wine had access to the notes and books of Henri Jayer, and this does give us some new details, that can help us understand the production of the mesmerising Jayer wines – how many bottles were in fact made – and so forth.
Putting Cros Parantoux on the map
Henri Jayer created the fame and fortune for Cros Parantoux – when he decided to bottle the wine from this forgotten 1er cru separately in 1978.
Cros Parantoux is a vineyard located in the corner between Les Petits Monts and Richebourg – see map below.
