Vineyard, cellar, tasting, vineyard, lunch, tasting, tasting, vineyard, tasting – dinner! You know the Burgundian drill.
But the region has much more to offer if you know where to look. I have often been amazed by the creativity and craftsmanship that one can find exploring the small villages and shops in Burgundy.
One of these artisans is my friend Jennifer, who has started her own adventure: La Soaperie, an artistic soap-maker (in French put more elegantly: savons).
Jennifer sells cosmetic products from her workshop in Beaune, and here she is to introduce her business!
La Soaperie in Place Monge, Beaune
La Soaperie is a small business that produces artisanal soaps, cosmetics, and beeswax candles. You can find us on Place Monge in Beaune’s town city centre.
The local terroir and agriculture play an important role in inspiring of our line of products. We have cherished collaborations with several artisans from the region.
Most notably, we make an exfoliating soap using grape seeds, appropriately named “Passe-tout-grain,” and our unscented beeswax candles are produced using beeswax sourced from hives all along the Route des Grands Crus from the Côte Châlonnaise to the Côte de Nuits.
Visits to the showroom are by appointment only. You can contact Jennifer at:
