Vineyard Insight: Clos St. Marc a small and forgotten monopole

By Steen Öhman March 28, 2016 -

Clos St. Marc ..... is a monopole in Nuits-Saint-Georges, or should I rather say Premeaux. The vineyard is now owned by Domaine Michéle et Patrice Rion ... a very fine but also in my view a somewhat overlooked producer. It's a very interesting terroir - located in the hearth of Premeaux .. so …

Domaine Georges Noëllat, Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux-Monts 2013

By Steen Öhman March 28, 2016 -

The Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux-Monts is a magnificent glas of pinot. In the bouquet rich red and dark fruit .. notes of black currant and boysenberries ... supported by a quite intense minerality. On the palate rich, intense and airy with a wonderful energy from the 2013 acidity. Love the lacy and …

On the palate fine fruit - good freshness and medium length. Need time ... not a very complex wine currently. …

Domaine Coche-Dury, Meursault Les Genevrieres 2012

By Steen Öhman March 28, 2016 -

My first Les Genevrieres from Coche-Dury. The 2012 is slightly closed but unfolds little by little after some time en the glas. The nose is not very expressive Coche, but still offers plenty of fruit and a powerful minerality for the vintage. On the palate quite intense, and rather refined for the …
