I have long been trying to increase the focus of the articles … i.e. mainly writing about the best and most interesting wines. This means that some of the wines are left out … as these are not the ones that I firsthand recommend.

As Burgundies are getting more and more expensive … the critics will become more direct and tough … I will turn up the critic a notch i.e. I don’t want to recommend some so & so wines one find in many portfolios … sorry.
Some wines will be mentioned with points and vin d´émotion score …. others will not be mentioned at all because they are not good enough … in the context.
The wines of Dujardin
This article has been on the table for quite some time … waiting for the mind to settle. Not that the wines from Dujardin are bad or poor … they are actually quite good in my view … however Monthelie require something special to turn me on, as they often can have a slight austerity – or darkness if you will.
This is why we love Meursault … and only some Monthelies … to be honest. We need optimal phenolics in the Monthelies giving them the energy we look for in Auxey-Duresses and Meursault … this is my preference I know … but I have to say this – sorry.
Dujardin Aligote 2023
Nice fresh Aligoté .. good density. Not super energetic … but will do – 40 year old wines
(Drink from 2025) – Very Good – (88p) – ![]()
Dujardin Auxey-Duresses Les Fosses 2023
Lovely juicyness .. has a nice fruit … not crystal clear but with a very nice livelyness …
(Drink from 2029) – Very Good – (88p)
Dujardin Monthelie Le Plante 2023
Lovely yellow fruit … intense nice balance and salinity – very elegant.
(Drink from 2029) – Very Good – (89p) – ![]()
Dujardin Meursault 2023
