The last summer wine from Faiveley is a Chambolle-Musigny village 2018 .. quite a step up. It is a negociant wine … but nevertheless, it is showing both Faiveley character and a nice Chambolle minerality.
lets go to Chambolle.
Summer Wine 5: Chambolle-Musigny 2018
The fifth summer wine, Chambolle-Musigny 2018 … the negociant wine.
Starting out with a relatively clear oak impression .. that fades as the temperature rises and the air give the fruit space and nuances.
It is quite forward and fruity without the darker and weightier notes of the 2018 vintage.
A charming village with an accessible and enjoyable style. Lighter than the Domaine wines .. thus offering a nice experience already. Lovely acidity does give a magnificent balance.
Enjoyable now, but will drink well over the next years. Will go with most medium weight red dishes … offering a taste of the lovely Chambolle.
(Drink from 2025) – Very Good – (88p) – Tasted 17/06/2020
Thanks to Eve Faiveley for selecting and supplying the enjoyable summer wines.
