In my view Latriciere-Chambertin is one of the overlooked and slightly misunderstood terroirs … and the 2015 vintage has really shown what this terroir can offer in both refinement and greatness.
I have tasted excellent Latriciere-Chambertins from both Domaine Trapet and Domaine Faiveley and not to forget a delightful sample from Domaine Duroché.
A great surprise however came when I visited Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux — a well known Vosne producers! To be honest I did not know that Charles Lachaux produced a Latriciere .. and even less that it would in fact be one of the highlights of the tasting at Arnoux-Lachaux in January. It should be noted that Arnoux-Lachaux acquired the plot in 2007 and the first vintage was 2008.
The 2015 from Arnoux-Lachaux certainly deserve acclaim and a further mention .. so lets do a short and swift Terroir Insight.
