I go to Burgundy more than five times a year to taste, to visit vignerons, to walk the vineyards … yet still I find new or to me unknown producers and vineyards – this is the beauty and the complexity of Burgundy – the region I love so much.
Even unknown monopole vineyards can still turn up – this is the case with the Chambolle Musigny Les Véroilles …. a small vineyard owned by Domaine Ghislaine Barthod.

In fact its one of those semi-quasi monopoles … as its a part of a vineyard but only this part has been elevated to 1er cru whereas the rest remains village Chambolle-Musigny.
Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles 1er cru – the monopole above Bonnes Mares
Les Véroilles 1er is located just above the southern end of Bonnes Mares – adjacent to the village part of Les Cras. It was promoted to 1er cru in 1987 and is owned by Domaine Ghislaine Barthod – see location (red plot) on the map below.
