Edouard Confuron has rapidly become one of the new guys to follow in Vosne-Romanée.
Edouard comes from the big and quite diverse Confuron family, as he is also a core part of the Confuron-Gindre estate together with his father.
Edouard is working both with his father on the Confuron-Gindre estate, but is also creating his own estate with some very interesting wines.

Domaine Edouard Confuron
At his new estate, Edouard is free to follow his vision and make the wines that he likes , without constraints. He began in 2021 – not the easiest year – and a 100%-whole-cluster vinification was not always possible due to the weather and the resulting quality of the harvest, but the ambition was there.
In 2022, conditions were better, quality-wise, but the yields were high. This again limited the whole-cluster possibilities, as making whole-cluster wines demands more vat space.
2023 was another abundant year with some limitations on the vinification side as it was still not possible to go 100% whole cluster. It became more and more apparent that the best wines from this estate are the wines produced from whole cluster grapes.
In 2024 and 2025, Edouard has taken the full step, and the full production is now based on whole-cluster grapes. A big move for Edouard – and a giant leap for mankind it seems – as this sort of set the portfolio free … this is indeed promising.
Things take time, and Edouard now feels it is both viable and physically possible to go 100% whole cluster – 2024 was a small year, as was partly 2025.
To go 100% whole cluster in 2024 was a courageous move, as the maturity of the stems was often problematic, but Edouard pulled it off – very well done indeed.
The whole-cluster style was continued in 2025, an easier harvest that lends itself to the whole-cluster vinification.
In my mind, the move to 100% whole cluster in 2024 seems to set a new and very exciting road for Edouard Confuron … and suddenly, he is playing in the major leagues with a shot at the title.

Domaine Edouard Confuron Côteau du Bourgingnon 2024
The Côteau du Bourgingnon is showing surprisingly well and vividly in 2024. A bit darker than the Bourgogne Rouge, but offers the same eternal liveliness and energy that makes the Confuron wines so attractive. To repeat myself … A vin de soif … nothing more and nothing less! Damn, he is good!

Domaine Edouard Confuron Bourgogne 2024
The Bourgogne Rouge is offering deep fruit for this level … still energetic … tense with a very vivid style … damn, this is good for 2024. This cuvée is a sure bet for an affordable entrance to the magic of Vosne. Tasting the 2022 vintage confirms this now. This is a vigneron not only to follow, but also to buy every year. 100% whole cluster can be done in 2024 for the brave and talented.
