Back at Gouges after sadly missing the 2022s … my fault really.
The more forward and effortless style really takes Gouges to new levels, and with the vivid 2023s and a quite short elevage for the lesser wines we see some more joyful and enjoyable Gouges wines.

Impressions of the 2023s from Domaine Henri Gouges
I tasted the red 2023s with Antoine Gouges from both bottle and cask in the tasting room overlooking the vineyards. Inspirering place to be in one of the most beautiful tasting rooms in Nuits-Saint-Georgew.
Let’s GO
Domaine Henri Gouges Bourgogne Rouges 2023
Darkish berries … raspberries …. lively and quite intense. A bit on the dark side, but has a good energy.
(Drink From 2025) – Fine (87p)
Domaine Henri Gouges Les Dames Huguettes 2023
The top Hautes Côtes … energetic with a nice minerality. Has a wonderful balance and a good freshness. A great wine for the appellation that can challenge a lot of villages.
(Drink From 2028) – Fine (88p) –
Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chênes Carteaux 2023
A 1er cru located just above Les Saint-Georges and next to Vaucrains. This is a quite vivacious good phenolic ripeness … drinking beautifully. 20% medium toast but very balanced and discreet with the oak.
(Drink From 2030) – Fine (90p)
