The Lamarche Grande Rue 2012 actually surprised me in a positive way. The nose offer lovely and quite transparent red and dark berry fruit .. amply infused with Vosne spices … notes of violets and cinnamon – quite refined and floral. On the palate pure and relatively dark fruit for the vintage, fine transparancy and a quite lovely balance – so far so good. While I’m not a fan of big and burly wines – I do feel however that this wine lack some weight and depth to match and be a true Vosne Grand Cru. I’m seeing progress and quite like the refinement .. but still some way to go.
