Day 2 of 2014 tastings … Maison Chantereves in Savigny Les Beaune, Domaine Georges Noellat in Vosne-Romanee, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé and Domaine Bertheau in Chambolle-Musigny.
These tastings confirmed the loverly drinkability of the 2014s … the quality is high and this vintage should not be forgotten in the midst of the 2015 hype.
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé 2014s
The 2014s from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé are really showing well … gorgeously transparent and pure wines.
The forward nature of the vintage is a perfect match for the slightly distant and regal style of de Vogüé.
The vibrant and juicy fruit is offering a delightful charming side to the wines, and reminding me about the truly magnificent 2002s from this fine estate. At this stage I find the 2014s more filigree and refined than the 02s … and even more charming.
All the wines showed well … from the Chambolle village to the mighty Musigny Vieilles Vignes. Sadly it was not possible to taste the white .. Bourgogne Blanc/Musigny … but I would imagine that it’s a true beauty given the characteristics of the 2014 whites,
All in all … a magnificent visit.
Tasting notes will follow.
