The co-owners of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Claire and Marie de Ladoucette, have announced the departure of winemaker François Millet and the arrival of his successor, Jean Lupatelli, who will replace Millet as winemaker beginning with the 2021 vintage.
Jean Lupatelli comes to the iconic estate from Domaine Decelle-Villa in Nuits-St-Georges.
The new winemaker will welcome you in Chambolle-Musigny as soon as the COVID measures allow the domaine to receive guests again.
François Millet began at Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé with the elevage of the 1985 vintage. He has been responsible for vinification of the de Vogüé wines for 35 years, with his last full vintage being the 2019, which he will see into bottle. What a fine way to end his reign in Chambolle!

Hallo Steen,
I met F MILLET a couple of times visiting the domaine. Quite an academic guy with a philosopholic look at his wines. Much critisised at first due to Robert Parker’s comments on the domaines’ wines (many people thought he was going to be fired). He nevertheless succeeded brilliantly. Without arguably, , however, bringing the wines to the quality level reached at Christophe Roumier’s and F MUGNIER’s.
