The Gevrey Chambertin 1996 is a surprisingly good effort from Dennis Mortet. Showed good fruit and nice sweet tones. Mortet was highly extracted in the mid-1990s, but this wine has developed better than expected, and now behaves like a fairly classic Gevrey – a good to very good wine. (2013-2022) – 87p
