The 2010 Aux Combottes is developing slowly yet surely, and beginning to show some maturing notes. This is a gorgeous effort with lovely tension and energy. It still shows quite some tannins in the lovely 2010 manner – effortless and refined – as well as the coolness of this delightful year. More structurally and minerally forward than the Beaux Monts 2010 – tasted at the same event – and typically Gevrey, with a strong mineral finish. In the end, quality-wise this will presumably match the Beaux Monts in the long run. 2010 is a vintage of immense hedonistic qualities.
(Drink from 2030) – Fine (93p) – 05/01/2020 – ?

- Visit to Domaine Dujac – tasting the 2018sThe Winehog has a long history with Domaine Dujac, as I have followed it since the early 1990s. I have tasted many wines even further back – including a delightful 1976 Clos St. Denis that is a benchmark for hot vintages, alongside some 1947s and perhaps a few 1959s from other domaines. After tasting many 2018s, ...
- Terroir Insight: Domaine Dujac, Vosne Aux MalconsortsBurgundy can be very complex with exceptions and historic changes to the appellations, giving some slightly odd borders between the vineyards, and the wines made.
