It is rare to taste a Chassagene Dent de Chien – as this magnificent vineyard above the Montrachet Grand Cru is very small. One of the producers is Domaine Morey-Coffinet … and when I visited the estate I had the pleasure of tasting the 2005 version of the Dent de Chien – what a treat. The nose is now maturing with quiet nutty notes, the oak is fully integrated – the fruit is offering maturing notes .. a very complex bouquet currently. On the palate long and focused offering a lovely freshness for the vintage – nice acidity – good mid-palate weight and a long intense mineral feel in the finish. A beautiful wine – 2005 at it’s best ..

- 2020: Cool in a Hot Year – ElaboratedThe 2020 vintage is a serious and somewhat scary beast – to me at least- coming as it does after the outstandingly great red 2019s.
