It is always a treat and a great pleasure to visit Thibault Morey … as there is a zen-like balance and tranquility over this estate … nothing forced but wines made like nature intended them – it seems.
I am of course back at Domaine Morey-Coffinet tasting the elegant wines from the prime vineyards of Chassagne-Montrachet …

The 2023 vintage have many lovely and positive sides, as the energy and freshness in general is very good.
The harvesting window was however narrow, and this has influenced a few of the lesser wines, as they were just on the edge, as the phenolic ripeness was on the gererous side.
Thibault is, however, a master who keeps the wines on track, and they are still lovely. And pair these phenolically ripe wines with dishes having a stronger or more spicy profile, then magic can happen.
Let’s go to the detailed impressions. Tasting of bottled wines on March 21st 2025.
Domaine Morey-Coffinet Bourgogne Blanc 2023
The Bourgogne Blanc is rich and succulent. Generous and with nice ripe phenolics. Good fruit – and a nice livelyness … the 2022 is perhaps slightly more precise … but this will do.
