Domaine Morey-Coffinet, Chassagne Blanchots Dessus 2012

Readers know that I’m not a great fan of the 2012 whites – it’s not a poor vintage by any standards – I do however feel they lack a bit of energy compared with the 2010 and 2014 vintages. This is not the case with the Blanchots Dessus from Domaine Morey-Coffinet – a tremendously vibrant glass for the vintage. The nose is quite expressive and detailed – fine intense minerality, oak discrete but present, lovely cool white and yellow fruits. On the palate very vibrant and refined for a 2012 – plenty of minerality focus offering tremendous length. Excellent wine from this tremendous plot just south of the Montrachet plot of Comte Lafon – one of the best, if not the best plot on Blanchots-Dessus.
