The Vosne-Romanée Les Beauxmonts 2017 from Verdet is a rather concentrated and quite intense wine for the vintage. Quite some tannins indicating a style that will require some time to resolve and unfold. Fine cherry notes – amaretto cherries – quite spicy and with a nice terroir expression. Technically correct rather than extrovert charming currently and is somehow not quite shining the way it could – if the structural component was a bit more forthcoming and delicate. A very good wine nevertheless.
(Drink From 2028) – Very Good (89 – 90p) – Tasted 16/05/2019.
