This week I had lunch with an agent colleague in a nice restaurant in Côte de Beaune … and while I have noticed price increases many times before … I was sort of shocked to see the prices of a simple village Meursault now climbing up towards 90-100 EUR
And yes, let’s face it, the prices on even annoying Burgundies have now reached a unhelthy level, a level where non-Burgundian alternatives are called for.

Furthermore, the situation is also calling for some stronger warning lights about more tedious and especially annoying wines that I encounter on my way.
So from today I will strike down on the substandard wines that I encounter, which, given the prices charged, should deliver a better quality.
I will not make long lists of annoying wines … but they will get a special and little flattering attention in my social media posts and in short articles on the web. I will try to be polite … but if the vigneron is fucking up … you’ve got a right to know.
So … glowes of … time to sell tedious burgundies at 100 EUR is now ending …
Before I think I have somehow accepted tedious or indifferent wines as a part of the day-to-day Burgundy lunch drinking … but no more … these boring wines should no longer be sold at these ever increasing and elevated prices.
Names will be mentioned … and there are sadly many who don’t deliver quality that matches the current prices – sad to say!
“…I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious Anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers And you will know My name is the Hog when I lay my vengeance upon thee”

- A truly hedonistic wine – lively and enjoyable
- A vivacious wine for pure indulgance
