Boursot is an old domaine in Chambolle-Musigny who has made its mark in recent years in the Burgundy hierarchy.
The estate has quite a few interesting vineyards, Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées being the most prominent.
The style is forward, quite vivid. Some are rather classical and slightly on the toasty side, flavour-wise.
They do, however, make some very interesting wines with amphoraes, and this is where the visit at the estate really starts to show hedonistic glory and quality. So, follow my Vin d’emotion ratings.
The amphorae wines are truly exiting, and while the rest are also good or very good, they dont have the same hedonistic quality as the cuvées that include a good percentage of amphorae wines.
The Boursot history
The history of the Boursot family in Chambolle-Musigny dates back at least to 1550 to a certain Guillaume Boursot.
The 2022 wines

Domaine Boursot Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023
The Bourgogne Chardonnay is from the Chambolle area. 20% new oak. It is a rich and generous Bourgogne Blanc … the 2023 vintage has very a nice energy.
(Drink from 2025) – Very Good (87p)
Domaine Boursot Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2023
The Bourgogne Pinot Noir is lightfooted with the nice kirsch freshness. Not a big wine, but it does have a good drinkability. High yields, naturellement.
(Drink from 2024) – Very Good (87p)
Domaine Boursot Côte de Nuits Village 2023
The Côte de Nuits Village comes from La Montagne in Corgoloin ond Les Retraits in Comblanchien. It’s deep and elegant … delicately beautiful. Montagne gives a nice airy touch while Les Retraits provides a lovely lively backbone. Love these two terroirs. 15% amphorae does help.
(Drink from 2027) – Very Good (89p) –
Domaine Boursot Savigny-lès-Beaune 2023
The Savigny-lès-Beaune is interesting – as it has 1/3 amphorae juice. This gives the wine a lovely airy style – quite tight, with fine airy acidity. This style suits the terroir well and gives the wine a beautiful hedonistic glow.
(Drink from 2028) – Very Good (88p) –
Domaine Boursot Vosne-Romanée Les Chalandins 2023
The Chalandins is on the border with 50% medium-toasted oak. With the amphoraes, it works, and the relatively toasted oak does work well with the Vosne terroirs. Well done … producing a harmonious Vosne village.
(Drink from 2032) – Very Good (89p) –
Domaine Boursot Chambolle-Musigny 2023
The Chambolle Villages comes from the terroirs Les Nazoires Clos Les Échezeaux and Les Maladières. Only 33% new oak is used and this give the wine a gorgeous balance. Has 25% amphorae which lifts the wine up into another class and quality in my view. Its airy, refined and elegant with a fantastic Chambolle expression. I love this wine.
(Drink from 2032) – Very Good (90p) –
