Henri Jayer, Vosne Romanee 1995

By Steen Öhman August 4, 2011 -

Tasted at Cote D'Or just a few month before the tragic death of Bernard Loiseau. The 1995 Vosne Romanee village came after Meo-Camuzet 1993 Clos de Vougeot, and was amazing. The sheer intensity of the wine overpowered the bigger terroir of the Meo wine. The Jayer village wine was lush, silky and …

Philippe Pacalet, Gevrey Chambertin Bel-Air 2009

By Steen Öhman August 3, 2011 -

This normally one of the best wines from Pacalet. A very fine terroir expression, that suits the rather heavy 2009 style. Very nice bouquet with red fruits - nice pinot note organic style. The wine is in a very fine balance currently, where the pinot flavors blend perfectly with the nice minerality …

Domaine Bertheau Les Amoureuses 2007

By Steen Öhman July 22, 2011 -

The Amoureuses 2007 is a very nice wine with good length and palate. The yields must be quite high, thus making the wine a little light compared to the top end Amoureuses. But it's a fine and quite charming wine. 91p (2016 - 2022) …

Domaine Regis Forey Les Gaudichots 2009

By Steen Öhman July 22, 2011 -

Les Gaudichots 2009 is quite a dark wine. A traditional style Burgundy, for cellaring. Needs time to open up, but has quite a good length and fruit on the palate. Some hints of the very fine terroir. Not showing at the moment but still a fine and maybe even very good to fine effort from Forey. …

Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee Les Suchots 2010

By Steen Öhman July 20, 2011 -

Les Suchots is not my favorit wine from Liger-Belair. The 2010 Suchots is quite dark and heavy compared to the other Vosne 1er crus, some minerality and good length - fine. 90 - 91p (2015 - 2026) CASK …
