Many relatively unknown terroirs deserve a cheer and a nod for the potential qualities we find when it is brought forward by the right hedonistic friend.
One such friend is Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay, who produces a truly lovely village Chassagne from this village vineyard just below Criot-Batard-Montrachet.
The name of the vineyard is Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot Dessous … and not Blanchot Dessus – a 1er cru located just across the road, and below the Montrachet itself. These two vineyards are often confused, as the names and locations are so close.
