Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot this year included a fine tasting of Corton-Charlemagne. As a reader, you might know that Corton-Charlemagne has become very hyped and popular in recent years.
There are still quite a few variations in quality and style among the different producers, giving quite a few different wines to choose from.
The mother of all this hype is the Bonneau du Martray, a wine that started all this boohai. They served both the 2022 and the 2019 vintages … both were gorgeous, with the 2019 served at almost optimal temperature.

The DRC Corton-Charlemagne is already legendary, and the 2019 and 2020 vintages are truly impressive.
I have the 2020 as a favourite from earlier tastings of these vintages, but give the 2019 time to get the exuberant and exotic fruit flavours under more “control”. The 2019 is quite a flashy wine … but both are a treat.
