Gros Frere et Soeur, Clos de Vougeot 1976

The Clos de Vougeot 1976 from Gros Frere et Soeur is keeping remarkably well but is nevertheless in slight decline. Have tasted this wine several times around 15 to 20 years back, and it was fully mature then, and is now on a slow descent. In the bouquet quite hot notes with prunes and a slight hint of figs interlinked with some red fruit. On the palate rather dense and harmonious with notes of raspberries and prunes and other slightly overripe notes. The fruit is rather delicate, but is lacking some juicyness and real substance. A good mature Burgundy.
